Putting down roots in a small commercial kitchen in a private house in the green hills of Western Massachusets, Hot Mama’s Foods has grown faster than a summer garden.

Acquired by Matt Morse in 1991, and unfailingly dedicated to fresh ingredients without any preservatives, Hot Mama’s Foods is now a multi-million dollar natural, organic, and conventional food business with facilities in Springfield MA, and Elk Grove Village, IL.

Over the years, with careful corporate nurturing, the Hot Mama’s family tree now includes impressive private label customers, foodservice companies, multinational food manufacturers, co-packing customers, brokers, and distributors.

Steady Healthy Growth

Just as gardeners transfer plants to bigger and bigger pots to encourage healthy growth, so has Matt Morse moved Hot Mama’s Foods through a series of larger and larger production facilities in New England and in the Midwest to now serve a growing local, regional and national audience. Along the way Matt Morse was named Entrepreneur of the Year by The Western Massachusetts Enterprise Fund. Hot Mama’s Foods continues to grow season after season.

From a humble hummus and hand-chopped salsa, Hot Mama’s pristine production lines can now generate more than 10,000 pounds of fresh product an hour - including gourmet hummus, salsa and pesto in a wide array of traditional and contemporary flavors, along with special recipe dips, pizza toppings, deli salads, convenience foods, and customized sauces.
